My Goal is not to force change, but to be change


Continuing the exercise I have set myself to re-read and blog my results from reading Creating A Bug Free Mind and Using A Bug Free Mind by Andy Shaw.

I haven’t made a blog entry for the last 3 months or so and I suppose I should give some explanation. After all I started the blog in order to be accountable to myself and others regarding following the Way and documenting the results. The reason Andy Shaw says we should do this in the first place is to shorten the absorption curve to getting rid of all the bugs from our minds. It is just over a year since I first started reading the books. I became a little frustrated at the slow pace of progress despite the many signs of improvements in my life generally. I realize now that I was making a statement to the universe that it wasn’t happening quickly enough – and guess what? The universe is acting as if that is exactly what I want!

For the record I haven’t stopped reading them, or listening to the audios (I have them in the car and I listen to them most of the time while commuting). I am currently on my 5th read through the first book. It never ceases to amaze me the layers and levels that these work on. Reading the chapters now about accepting and surrendering for the 5th time I am getting more from them than ever. After the 2nd time I thought to myself, “I have this now, I get it – I don’t need to read it anymore” – Not so, not so at all! The next thing I knew I was “worrying” that I wasn’t getting it – that this was going to be another disappointment, another dark alley with a lot of time and money spent and wasted. Thankfully I recovered from that fairly quickly and I “know” I am on the right road, no matter how fast or slow it happens as long as I remain in the now and resist negativity.

Woman meditating.The temptation to become negative and remain in negativity was and sometimes still is strong. It is important for me to remember that all negativity is an illusion created by the limited mind to protect and defend itself. It is contagious; it creates unhappiness and spreads quickly because it fears change. When I read this for the 5th time I honestly think it was the 1st time I actually got it and began to realize its subtlety and the ease with which it can take over. Andy says that negativity equals a loss of energy, which equals wasting your life. It is our creative energy that makes our life happen, that is when change happens and when we embrace changes our world changes for the better. I am doing my best now to remember that all change is positive, even apparent so-called negative change.

So now after the holidays and very busy periods at work I am settling in to getting some reading/listening done most days. I will now promise myself to pick up where I left off and to do the other elements as well which includes keeping the blog up to date and keeping in touch with ABFM world.

    I suppose it’s like exercise for the body you have to keep it up to reap the benefits, goes to say our mind needs to have exercise to – to make lasting changes!!!! Keep it up x
